Explore Louisiana Rose Parade Volunteer Information
Join dozens of volunteers as we decorate our Explore Louisiana float for the Rose Parade!
Whether traveling from Louisiana or heading to Pasadena from somewhere else, there are a number of chances to get involved with the Tournament of Roses. The floats featured in the parade are professionally designed and decorated by volunteers days before the event. All are invited to join the fun and help!
On New Year’s Eve, the floats are judged based on design, floral presentation and entertainment value. On New Year’s Day, the floats travel more than five miles, parading in front of more than 700,000 people. Following the parade is Floatfest, which features all the floats that made appearances on the route.

Where is the volunteer work area located?
Decorating typically takes place at the float builder’s warehouse.
What are the volunteer dates?
Times will be announced as more information becomes available.
What tasks do volunteers work on?
Tasks may include prepping materials/seeds/flowers/organic materials for the float by gluing, cutting, smashing, taping, etc. Dress appropriately. Closed-toe shoes are required.
What should I wear?
Dress casually and warmly in layers. Decorating takes place in a warehouse and depending on weather can be chilly.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation information will be announced as more information becomes available.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, volunteers must be 12 years or older to decorate.
